Foreday / How it works
How Foreday works
Foreday is a to-do app built around one idea: you should not have to sort your own list before you can start. You type everything that is on your mind. Foreday files it and shows you the three things that matter today.
1. Type what is on your mind
Tasks, errands, half-formed ideas, things you need to remember. Write them in plain words or tap the microphone and say them. There is no form to fill in and no project, tag or priority to choose first. One messy box is enough.
2. Foreday sorts it
Each thing goes where it belongs, and Foreday picks your 3 for today from everything you have written. Dates you mention ("Friday", "tomorrow at 5") are understood, and you can ask for a reminder in the same sentence. You stay in charge: it is your list, and you can change what it filed.
3. Do your 3
Check them off and you are done for the day. Anything you did not get to stays safe and is considered again tomorrow, so nothing is lost and nothing piles up on your screen.
Why only three?
A list with forty items does not tell you what to do next. It only shows you how much is undone. Three is small enough to finish on a normal day, so most days end with "done" instead of "behind".
What else is in the app
- Quick lists and longer notes, plus an assistant that can find things you wrote before.
- Reminders that arrive as notifications on your phone.
- A calendar view of your days, habit check-offs, and a short morning and night journal.
- Sign in with Google, a passkey or Face ID. Add it to your Home Screen and it opens like an app.
What happens to what you write
To sort your items, the text of your open items is sent to an AI service through OpenRouter, which is set to use only providers that do not train on your data and do not keep it. Your name, email and password are never sent. There are no ads and nothing is sold. You can download everything as Markdown, or delete all of it in Settings. The full details are on the privacy page.
